L.S Lowry

I have included some examples of L.S Lowry's work as i feel they are relevant to this project in respect to their content.
I like the way his painting have melancholy and sad vibes, they feel mundane and dull.
They feel ordinary, like an exact representation of a moment in time. people are just passing by, to get from one place to another - like discussed in psyechogeography, they are unaware of the details of their surroundings.
I think it is impressive how he expressed these emotions through his paintings, where people and expressions cannot be distinguished, it is his use of colour and the tonal values of the paintings which generate this feeling.
