Olivio Barbieri

I absolutely love this work - it reminds me alot of the images from the book Microworlds - Marc Vallli & Margherita Dessenay (which i can look at for hours)
The book shows varied examples from different artists who use miniatures to explore scale and present ideas about our existence in the world- the images encourage us to rethink and rediscover everyday situations, sensations and objects.

In Olivio Barbieri's photo's there is a feeling of a gritty realism - the work depicts big cities in a new light - citites usually represented in a romantic and exotic way which creates a desire to travel.
what these photographs do it paint a more realistic representation of the locations.
